Tea Tree Oil-one of our favorites!

Tea Tree Oil-one of our favorites!

So, we are sort of in love with tea tree oil. We have used it since the beginning of making our soaps and it remains one of our most popular ingredients. Perhaps you don’t know as much about tea tree as we do, but here’s some essential facts about this essential gem of an oil!

Tea Tree oil comes from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree that is native to Australia. It has been used among the aboriginals of Australia for many years to help in healing cuts and wounds but also aids in congestion and colds. It is an excellent aide to providing relief to the symptoms of psoriasis and acne and that’s why we use it in our charcoal face and body soaps. It does reduce skin inflammation and irritation, so hence it’s a vital ingredient in our beard soap for men.

Tree tree oil lends itself to being a powerful sanitizer in your household cleaner and helps kill bacteria in your natural deodorant. It is used in natural insect repellents and in natural hand sanitizers since tests have shown it can kill some viruses and bacteria.

It helps get rid of nail fungus, can be used to limit dandruff occurrence, and treat Athlete’s Foot. Kids bring lice souvenirs home from school in their hair? There’s Tea Tree Oil for that. (We speak from experience on this one, trust us!). It is powerful for lice-your kiddo’s Lice tenants won’t stick around with this oil in their hair.

Due to its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antifungal properties, Tea Tree oil is one of our favorites on our shelf of ingredients to grab. It cannot be ingested but applied topically on our skin via our products it is safe and effective. Its smell is refreshing and is truly a welcomed favorite. Definitely grab one of our charcoal bars at a future market and simply sniff it-the comments we get about our tea tree oil soaps and their effect on people’s skin are so positive!

Passion. Vision. Creation.

The Zero Waste Movement
The Zero Waste Movement

November 22, 2018

There is a serious epidemic in our world today and it is caused by the amount of plastic we create and consume, and hence, how much we throw away. Our shorelines are lined with garbage, there are islands of floating plastic lost at sea, and statistically speaking, we are creating ten times more trash a day than we did a century ago. Of course, there are more people on earth right now than a century ago so more trash is inevitable, but it is this fact alone that has spurred us as a brand to be as minimal as possible with our output.
